The New Zealand-born, Australian-based artist Wallace takes you by the hand in eclectic production ‘Frame By Frame’ on a tour around a magical art gallery in which the painters move, the figures disappear and each have their own story. Guided through her formative years by J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter saga, Wallace’s active imagination enacted these childhood stories in musical magical realism. There’s no doubt a spell-binding nature to ‘Frame By Frame’, with the dramatic and varied instrumentation that springs into life with a sparkling timbre and silverscreen strings. Possessing an innate charm of all its own is Wallace’s characterful voice, in which the listener could easily get lost, amongst the Little Dragon-esque samples and Björk-style fantasy.
